General Information
We
have a team that is committed to the highest level of care, paying
attention not only of your dental needs, but also explaining
all procedures. We want your visit to our office to be as comfortable
and pleasant as possible. Our mission is to provide endodontic
care at the highest level possible. We practice in a state-of-the-art
facility that incorporates the latest techniques including the
use of surgical microscopy.
We have tried to provide educational information
on this website to answer some of the frequently asked questions
we receive from our patients. If you don’t
find the information you are looking for to answer your specific
question, please call us, and we will try to help you however we can.
Before your exam, evaluation, or consultation visit to our office
Call
(919) 233-8830 for your appointment if your referring office
has not already done so. We understand that convenient appointment
times are important to people, however, the quality of the endodontics
and your experience in our office prevent us from accommodating everyone’s schedule.
While convenience is important to everyone, we won’t compromise
our standards. This high level of care takes time and patience. We provide
caring, individualized, state of the art, endodontic care, all of which
takes time! Please bring your referral information with you to your appointment.
Your dentist has referred you to our office for an endodontic evaluation
and possible treatment. We will review your medical and dental
history, chief complaint, perform diagnostic tests, and study all x-rays.
It is sometimes necessary to have additional x-rays taken in order to
provide a three dimensional view of the tooth in question. The endodontic
consultation will be completed prior to the initiation of any treatment.
Patients often experience generalized pain and are unable to identify
the problem tooth. Sometimes pain can be felt in an area that
is different from the one in which it originates. When the source of pain
is different from the site of pain, this is commonly known as referred
pain.
No Pain Medication or anti-inflammatory drugs should be taken 8
to 12 hours prior to your appointment. Unfortunately, diagnosis
can be difficult and pain medications, either prescription or over the
counter can alter testing results. Taking pain medications may delay diagnosing
the problem. Please take your other normal medications, just
not pain medications.
Please bring a list of all prescription, nonprescription,
natural or herbal medications along with the dosage and frequency
for each medicine you take with you to the appointment. It is
very important that we know what medications you are taking. We will also
need your physician’s
name and telephone number. In some cases we will need to contact
your physician prior to dental treatment.
Dental insurance is a contract
between the patient and their insurance company; as such we do
not file insurance. We are however, happy to provide you with the paperwork
necessary for you to file the information yourself. If you have dental
insurance, bring your information such as the name and address of your
insurance, insurance and group number. This information will be placed
onto the form for your submission.
